Spookies

Sunday, December 27th, 2020

Thanks to the never-ending chum bucket that is the internet, I learned of Spookies (1986) over the weekend. Not only is it not a terrible horror movie, it has a great backstory that will come to no surprise to anyone who tried to pull an independent project off the ground.

See, proof I watched it.
My best friend is a puppet.
Hard to believe it is abandoned.
Our cast of characters, minus the monsters.
Here is a monster.
And another monster
and another monster
and one final monster.

What Else I Have Been Watching

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020

As a follow-up to the earlier post, other groovy, dirty, and slimy material that has been running through my computer box.

From the completely unauthorized Patrick Still Lives (1980). These people can drink some J&B.
Ahh, that really eases the pain.
I mean, why not?
There is nothing I like sharing more with my mistress than J&B.
And a smoke?
Looking good, my diabolical friend.

What I Have Been Watching

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020

Been watching movies in the traditional Perverse Osmosis vein: terrible, trashy, and full of JB. I realized that I hadn’t posted any of the screen caps, so here we are:

A couple of those are pickaxes +1
From Mark of the Witch (1970). Notice the giant book of philosophy.
Pretty formal philosophy party if you ask me.
If only all scrolls had something this handy written on them.
Thank you, 1981.
Taking the edge off with a little J&B
Giant spider rolls for initiative.
Good luck reading this, but it is for the movie Stuck (2020)
Mutated Nazi.
That gas mask must smell.

Play Motel

Sunday, December 4th, 2016

Play Motel (1979) probably takes place in the same world as Absurd, a world where the Rams beat the Steelers in the big game, and where the usual rules of cause, effect, and camera work are not in existence. One way that it is different: the inclusion of hard-core pornography in the first half of the movie. The bump-and-grind goes away in the second half, but what you have seen, you can’t unsee.

Another thing one can’t forget: the damn theme song.

At least this sleazeball has taste.

One of the tableaus features a little role play between this type 2 devil and a poor mortal.

Our mortal.

Baba Yaga

Friday, December 2nd, 2016

Baba Yaga (1973) is based on the work of an Italian fumetti artist Guido Crepax. More importantly, the witch at the center is also the witch who runs Baba Yaga’s Hut, a mid-level artifact in the DM’s Guide. Keep in mind, mid-level is still incredibly powerful, and any adventurer worth his, her, or its experience points would love to have it.

And the movie is also pretty good and features one of the few bondage dolls I have seen in a movie. Maybe she could hook up with Chucky.

Quite an outfit madame.

Not the only weird Nazi material in Baba Yaga.

I think this is the kitchen in the actual hut.

The new world of design.

S&M Barbie.

This outfit is representative of the fashion throughout much of the movie.

Note both the fur poncho on the hippie in the front and the striped pants in the back.

A laundry commercial, 1972 Italian style.

Nice sweater.

Ho-o-o-gaan!

Fin.
