Stab of the Blade
Using backstab frequently probably says something about the character and, by extension, the player. It is sneaky. The whole enterprise is built around stabbing something in the back, and all the connotations that come with it, none of which are good. No one says, “Hope you get stabbed in the back today” or “I was lucky enough to get stabbed in the back.”
I don’t care. Of course it is sneaky; I am a sneaky person. I don’t want to face anything in open combat. I want to use my intelligence and run, hide, wait, and, then when they aren’t expecting it, leap out of the darkness and give them a couple right where it hurts. Honorable? Of course not. Cowardly? Extremely and proud of it. Okay with it? Hey, I’m still living.
