Berserker
You’re surprised at feeling battle fury this early in the goblin encounter. Out of your barbarian lungs comes the hereditary berserker battle cry and a sudden surge of energy as you hack down against the overmatched goblin, breaking its defense and ribs. As you jump over the body, you find yourself facing six to eight dagger-and-club wielding goblins, and you begin running towards the middle of the their line. You hack down two; another goblin cuts your calf below the padded leather armor, but you feel nothing because berserker fury completely possesses you. Four more goblins die in the space of twenty heartbeats, and your sword feels like a dagger instead of the heavy piece of metal forged deep in the Corusk Mountains.
Three remaining goblins charge, hoping to catch you off balance. You lash the longsword out, cutting the first goblin’s stomach. Following the sword’s momentum, you twirl and strike again; the sword smashing a goblinoid ribcage. You spring off the goblin, whirling your sword at the oncoming opponents. The first blocks your swing and the second moves in, swinging a flat blade downward. Your vision dims, then blackness.
When you awake, Rodericke and Dorengar are looking down at you, shaking their heads. The dwarf growls, “That’s the problem with snow humans: friend or foe, no one knows.”
After recovering, you lead the party forward down the hall.
After recovering, you lead the party through the small opening in the wall.
